Hi Everyone! My name is Cameron Jurkowsky. Most of you that have grown up with me know me as Cammie, but in the end, it’s all the same!
The main reason for my blogging is because I have come an extremely long way from what I was in High School and College, or even a year ago for that matter. I’ve got a lot running through my lil’ mind of mine (say that 3x fast!) and I wish to share my experiences with those that care and those interested. I grew up being a ‘full time’ lacrosse player, finding every excuse to miss my first 2 classes at school (who needs to learn about Entomology anyways!), complaining about running and conditioning (Didn’t we do it yesterday?!), and I certainly indulged in the partying atmosphere (maybe a little too much!) at the wonderful school of Penn State (We are…!)
My life has taken a dramatic turn for the better and have now become fully dedicated to the sport of MMA, or Mixed Martial Arts, as well as fitness. I joined Ivey League Mixed Martial Arts in June of 2009, and in just one year, I have progressed to participating in the World Kickboxing Association’s ‘MMA Nationals’ where some the best mma fighter’s from across the country come to compete.
The training is tough. It takes more time and dedication than any sport I have ever participated in. Running 5 days a week. Weight training 3 times a week. Classes almost every day, except Sunday. People ask: ‘Aren’t you scared your going to get hurt?!’ or ‘What about your pretty lil’ face!?’ I don’t think about getting hurt. It’s all worth it to me. Do I love it? Absolutely.
Oh yeah, I have a job too! I have been a Personal Trainer now for 3 years. Addicted to seeing Results.
What’s next for Cam?…stayed tuned.
On to the next one…
